My
name is Zhiqian Huang, come from China. I am a master student of Chemical
Engineering in Carnegie Mellon University. Right now, it is my second semester
in CMU. From August, 2009 to May, 2013, I left China, and started to study in
Iowa State University, in Chemical Engineering and Statistics. During these
four years, I studied new technical knowledge at school, traveled to different
states to learn more about the United States in holidays.
After I graduated from ISU, I got my first job, as a research associate in an Organ-sulfur Chemistry Laboratory. In that seven months working period, I successful synthesized four new dibenzothiophene-S-alkoxysulfonium salts, and collect plenty of experiment data which will be used to be published. However, I want to a higher degree. So, in order to accomplish this goal, I applied to CMU, and started to my mater studying from in CMU from January, 2014.
The reason why I take this course is that I want to know more about the innovation policies related to science, engineering, and economy; how to evaluate an innovation policy; comparison of developed and developing countries; and how the economy market response for the innovation policies, especially in the energy policy, such as new renewable energy policy. Right now, China is facing the energy issues, I want to learn the innovation policies related these issues. Because, not just in China, a lot of countries are facing the same problem. I believe this course will help me a lot.
