What actions, if any, should the Chinese government take on air pollution problem in China, especially the fog and haze in the eastern coast cities? Can innovations in public policies and/or science research help in dealing with this situation?
Policy Maker Client: In this case, the policy maker is the Chinese government. The Chinese government has the authority to promulgate laws and regulations to help improve the situation.
You defined the question clearly, but it will be more helpful if specific background information is explained. For example, you could list the problems caused by air pollution, the reasons why there is severe air pollution, especially along east coast, is there any form of actions taken and your suggestions.
ReplyDeleteA very relevant and well-known problem, but definitely deserves analysis given the direness of the current air pollution situation. I thought that your policy question was succinct and straight to the point, and narrowed down the actions on the part of the client that of "innovations in public policies and/or science research" definitely helped to streamline your question.
ReplyDeleteSuggestions:
1. Better defining the client. I am not sure about the governmental structure (organizations) within the Chinese government, but I thought that referring to the policy maker as "the Chinese government" is far too broad in scope.
2. Clarity of terms: Does air pollution, fog and haze mean the same thing? I wasn't sure if you used the terms because you wanted to focus on the geographic region (Eastern China).
3. Innovations in public policies: I was not sure what to make of this - I didn't know if you were referring to public policies promoting innovation or public policies that were 'creative' or 'thinking out of the box'.
4. A brief description would definitely be useful to understand your thought process when formulating this question. Do include it.
