Client: The problem is associated with all the residents in California and affects their life directly. The government and private, public sectors can be policy makers to come up with implementable solutions for this problem.
Description: California is facing an regional energy crisis in recent years. During summertime, when the electricity is in high demand for powering air conditioners, a threat of brownouts and blackouts are the major concern for the residents. Due to the draught in California, hydroelectric is relatively weak and not able to provide enough electricity. On the other hand, California has a low nuclear generation power. A lot of the reactors are in low use or even shut down, due to a concern of safety issues. Even though renewable energy is promoted by the local government and it has a promising future to solve current problems, the reliability and storage are still in question. In order to solve this shortage in energy, California needs more policies to address this problem and comes up with a more effective and efficient solution to offer its residents a state with reliable energy use.

This sounds like an important topic. For certain, this issue should be addressed. However, in discussing your client there is no clear indication of the entity or person. It is simply a matter of discussing the matter further. Otherwise, this is an excellent beginning, and as a corollary, I anticipate a good finished work product.
ReplyDeleteVery interesting and relevant topic, with convincing neutral background information on different factors fueling the energy crisis in California. For project feasibility, I would suggest targeting a more specific client, like the CA Department of Energy or a nuclear power plant. Given the size of California and its political and environmental divides, perhaps a more regionally-focused paper would allow greater analytic depth. The question itself might also be reigned in. Rather than “solve the energy crisis”, I would suggest targeting one of the causes you present: renewable energy is unreliable, nuclear power is underdeveloped/underutilized, and developing policy options from there.
ReplyDeleteI misread the chart and I was not assigned to review yours! Hope this is helpful anyway.
DeleteYou have pointed out a very relevant topic considering energy crisis today and a noble approach going forward. I believe the problem of moving to a more renewable source of energy is very generic and every country/region is looking for ways to adapt to renewable source of energy. I believe policies the government takes should give an incentive to people to conserve electricity and move to more renewable source of electricity like having solar panels at home. For the next draft please be more specific about the client and target a specific region because California is a big state.
